About Moravian stars
Moravian stars originate in the Czech republic as far back as the 1800’s. They are displayed as a symbol of the star of Bethlehem over the Advent and Christmas period.
What will I make?
A Moravian star requires 12 individual glass pieces. To ensure completion in the time allowed, the pieces are pre-cut to allow students to concentrate on foiling, tinning and assembly.
Each piece will have been cut and the edges ground in readiness for the workshop and will be available in various colours.
You will prepare and assemble the pieces and by the end of the workshop you will have a completed Moravian star to take home with you.

- Edge, clean and copper foil individual pieces
- Use a hot soldering iron for tinning and assembly
- Use flux to aid ‘tinning’ the edges of each piece
- Assemble your 3D star
- Add a hanger
- Clean and polish your finished star
- Tea, coffee and lots of biscuits freely available to fuel your creativity

Course Dates
This 4 hour half day Moravian Star workshop is very flexible when it is run. Please get in touch for the next available date as we run them on demand, Thursdays through Sundays inclusive.
There is a 12 month expiry from date of purchase on booking in your session. Note we typically have a 2/3 month lead time when booking your workshop date.
