Whats included in the workshop?
This workshop introduces students to paining with enamels. Enamels have been used as far back as the 13th Century. Glass is ground extremely finely to create a powder that can be sifted on to metal or glass bases and then fired or can be mixed with a medium to form a ‘paint’ to be used like any traditional medium.
This workshop covers the following:
- Review of popular enamel brands
- Understanding mixing mediums
- Tools and materials required
- Painting your project using our 6 step painting process
- Create a simple background
- Firing schedules for enamels
- All materials and firings included
What will I make in 1 day?
In our enamel workshops we use a pre-selected image so that all participants are able to follow Jill in the step by step paining process.
This is usually something like a fox or hare on a small curve or hanging ornament with a simple background. The piece will be fired and slumped and available for you to collect approximately 2 weeks after your workshop.
We are happy to chat about your ideas prior to the workshop and accommodate requests if we can – give us a call.
Dates are very flexible; please get in touch for the next available date. We run courses Thursdays through Sundays inclusive. We typically have a 2 month lead time when booking your workshop date.
